BothSides is a Chrome extension that analyzes news articles for bias and presents multiple perspectives. When you click Analyze, the extension extracts article data from the current page and sends it to our server for AI-powered analysis.
When you click Analyze, the extension sends the following to BothSides servers at bothsides.golabs.tech:
No data is sent until you click the Analyze button. BothSides does not run in the background, track your browsing, or collect data from pages you do not explicitly analyze.
Your article data is forwarded to an AI provider to generate the analysis. The primary AI provider is Anthropic (Claude). Your data is sent to Anthropic's API as part of an analysis prompt and is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy. Anthropic's API does not use your inputs for model training.
Your data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for advertising purposes. Article data is shared only with the AI provider (Anthropic) as described above, solely to generate your analysis.
BothSides uses a global daily request counter for rate limiting to prevent abuse and manage costs. This counter tracks only the total number of requests per day, not individual users or articles. No analytics platform or third-party tracking service is used.
All communication between the extension, BothSides servers, and AI providers occurs over HTTPS. Article content is validated and sanitized before processing. No article data is written to persistent storage.
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top will be updated. Continued use of the extension after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
